
Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar revealed that the original title of 1999 film “Cruel Intentions” was “Cruel Inventions”.
The 38-year-old actress, who is set to reprise her role as Kathryn Merteuil in the TV reboot of the movie, shared the throwback photo of original cast of the film along with the script.
“#throwbackthursday ok one last one because I was feeling nostalgic – and yes #CruelInventions was the original tittle. This pic was 1998 at our kick off dinner #cruelintentions #Crueltv #kathrynmerteuil,” she wrote in caption.
NBC’s “Cruel Intentions” pilot takes place about 15 years after the events of the movie.

The series revolves around teenager Bash Casey (Taylor John Smith), the son of the late Sebastian Valmont (played Phillippe in the film) and Annette Hargrove (Witherspoon in the film).
