John Abraham has made it big on his own merit without the helping hand of any powerful godfather. The actor knows the same and admits that it is his audience that keeps him going after he was written off post his debut film.
“I know that my audience will always root for me because in an industry that has so many support systems my biggest support system is my audience. It’s because of them that I am here. After my first film, I was told that I will have to go back to work. But I have been here for 14 years,” John told IndianExpress.com at the trailer launch of Rocky Handsome.
Calling himself an underdog, John said, “I like being the underdog. It’s always in my head. I like playing that role. I have been influenced by films where you always root for the underdog.”
For someone who now produces films, John still thinks he is a struggler. “The minute I think I have arrived I will pack my bags and go. I will always struggle. I love the struggle,” explained John.
