Singer Ariana Grande shut down a fan on social media after he made a critical comment about her appearance in a new music video.
The 22-year-old pop star recently released her “Dangerous Woman” promo, in which she is featured lounging on a couch in singing about empowerment and seduction.
But a fan called Jonathan disapproved of Grande’s sultry video, and decided to take to her official Facebook page to give her a piece of his mind, reported New York Daily News.
The singer took notice of the comment and replied to the critical fan by pointing out how often women are held to a different standard than men, writing, “When will people stop being offended by women showing skin/expressing sexuality? Men take their shirts off/express their sexuality on stage, in videos, on Instagram, anywhere they want to… all the time.
“The double standard is so boring and exhausting, with all due respect… woman can love their bodies too!!”
Since replying to Jonathan, her comment has garnered nearly 2,000 likes fans.
It isn’t the first time Ariana has fired back at critical social media users. In November last year, she slammed an online body shamer after they cruelly poked fun at the pop star’s thin frame.
