Girish Kumar will be seen romancing debutant actress Navneet Kaur Dhillon in their upcoming film ‘Loveshhuda’.
‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’ actor Girish Kumar, who will be seen romancing debutant actress Navneet Kaur Dhillon in their upcoming film ‘Loveshhuda’, says he is not comfortable doing adult comedies as it doesn’t intrigue him as an actor.
“At this point of my life and career, I feel that it doesn’t interest me as a genre. It’s not that I don’t want to do it, I am not comfortable doing it. For me, substance matters. If it is deep rooted where there is love involved along with sex just like we explore the similar kind in Loveshhuda, that really intrigues me as an actor and as a person. You cannot explore the genre much but I respect the people who do it. There’s no harm in doing,” Girish Kumar told IndianExpress.com when asked if would like to move to adult genre in future.
Having shot few intimate scenes in the film, Girish said he never felt uncomfortable doing them.
“In my personal life, I am a shy person but I think as an actor, you have to accept that this is your work and I love doing it. I am shy but in front of the camera, I get to be that I am not. There I feel comfortable somehow. In fact, behind the camera I am more nervous than in front of the camera. It’s very weird I know but that’s how I am. And Navneet was very sweet and she was very understanding and at the same time we had a good tuning going on. So it never felt uncomfortable. It was just a part of the work.”
Being one of the fresh jodis of 2016, Girish and his debutant co-star Navneet feel that they can become one of the hit jodis of Bollywood.
“Why not, why not. 100 per cent. I think that whole credit goes to our director Vaibhav Misra, who actually casted both of us and if it works then we should give him kudos. He has a good eye,” Girish said.
“We look fresh new faces that people would love to see. And if I see ourselves as an audience, I feel yes we will become one of the hit jodis of Bollywood,” Navneet Kaur Dhillon added.
Talking about her future plan as an actor, Navneet said, “I see myself on top of the list. If I don’t then why would anybody like to see me on top of the list. And there are some things that are happening. You will find out about it and I just hope for the best.”
Loveshudda releases on February 19.
