The countdown of KumKum Bhagya’s Alia aka Shika Singh’s wedding has begun as she will be a real life bride on May 1. The actress, who started her career on TV as Cadet Akriti Bhatt in Left Right Left, has been a part of many hit shows, Kumkum Bhagya being the most famous as of now.
Shikha, who will be married to her longtime boyfriend and pilot by profession Karan, is looking forward to the D-day. She shared her excitement with IndianExpress.com. Q: Where are you getting married?
Shikha: Mumbai
Q:What will you wear for your wedding and reception?
Shikha: I will wear a Panetar sari for wedding and a lehenga for reception. I got it custom made at a shop in town.
Q: Did you consider having a destination wedding?
Shikha: Yes! We wanted to go to Bahamas.
Q: Who all are there on the guest list?
Shikha: Just family and very very close friends.
Q: Will there be a reception post wedding?
Shikha: Yes.
Q: Is anyone from the film industry attending the wedding?
Shikha: No! Just my co-actors from my show Kumkum Bhagya.
Q: How are the wedding preparations going?
Shikha: Super hectic but going on.
Q: We have witnessed weddings on TV and in your show as well, how different is it in real and reel life?
Shikha: It’s completely a different ball game and for a change it’s real. There are no re-takes here.
Q: How excited are you for your wedding?
Shikha: Super duper excited. Counting days now. Karan is the best thing that happened to me ever. He is a gem of a person and I feel extremely lucky to have him.
Q: Will you head for Honeymoon post wedding?
Shikha: Yes, we are heading to Australia and Fiji.
Q: How has it been juggling between work and wedding preparations?
Shikha: Very hectic. I’m trying to make time between these two things and thankfully my production team of Balaji has been very supportive so far.
Q- How has the courtship period been for you?
Shikha: I’ve known Karan for four years and dating him has been so much fun as he is a very chilled out person. So I’ve completely enjoyed this phase and now ready to move on to another.
Q: Your wedding is clashing with Bipasha and Karan Singh Grover’s wedding, you have something to say to the couple?
Shikha: Oh yeah completely! Wish u both a very very happy married life and enjoy the new beginnings.
Q: Recently the suicide case of Pratyusha has been very disturbing. What do you have to say about it?
Shikha: Whatever happened was very sad. I wish and pray peace for her soul. Whatever happens in one’s life, I believe you gotta stand up and face it. Don’t give up. Life is beautiful please make the most of it. Cherish it and most importantly respect it as there are a lot of people fighting every day to get this gift of life.
