It was not a cakewalk for the makers of ‘Fan’ to make Shah Rukh Khan look like a 25-year-old in his latest release movie. After failing to get any positive response from several senior make-up artists all across the globe, director Maneesh Sharma had almost lost all hopes until Greg came into picture.
International make-up artist Greg Cannom, who has been nominated for nine Academy Awards and won it thrice took up the challenge and created the desired look of Gaurav in the film. (Read: Don’t think there will be a sequel to Fan: Shah Rukh Khan)
In a behind the scenes video shared by Yash Raj Films, Maneesh says that Shah Rukh Khan’s look couldn’t have been complete just with the help of VFX, prosthetics also played an important role in making him look so young. Maneesh says, “It is easy to make someone look older than his age, but almost impossible to make someone look so young.”
Shah Rukh Khan says, “No one, not even Greg has done anything like this before.”

Post failing at his first attempt Greg sat in his office looking at the faces he had made for actors and his attention was caught by Hollywood actor Brad Pitt’s face mask. That was the time when the idea of placing the international star’s face structure on Gaurav’s face struck him and young SRK was created.
When SRK’s fans posted this video on Twitter, the actor wrote, “Oh Gawd. How I don’t miss this sitting in one place for hours. Totally unlike me.”
