Actress Sunaina, who plays an important role in forthcoming Tamil actioner “Theri”, says life has come full circle with the opportunity to share screen space with superstar Vijay, who had launched the audio of her debut Tamil film.

“I play a fun role in ‘Theri’, but I don’t like to talk about it much. It was nice working with Vijay sir, and it was special because he launched the audio of my first Tamil film ‘Kadhalil Vizhunthen’, so it felt like completing a cycle,” Sunaina told IANS.

About the experience of working with Vijay, she said: “He’s very humble and friendly. It was on the sets of ‘Theri’ that I spoke to him for the first time. He told me that he knows that I’m a good dancer, and it felt good coming from a star.”

Sunaina also has Tamil romantic-comedy “Kavalai Vendam” in her kitty, besides a Telugu project.

“Nearly 60 percent of ‘Kavali Vendam’ is done. I’m paired with Jiiva, and I play a girl madly in love with him. The film is about different phases people in relationship go through. It’s a story everybody can easily relate to,” she said.

Although Sunaina started her cinematic career in Telugu filmdom, she couldn’t capitalise on the start.

“Since I got busy with Tamil films, I couldn’t pursue a career in Telugu industry. So it’s not like I’m making a comeback with this new Telugu project, because I never left. I just had to prioritise my career as I had my hands full in Tamil,” she said.

Having earned some reputation with films such as “Maasilamani” and “Neerparvai”, Sunaina has successfully clocked a decade in the industry.

“I started quite young, and I was clueless and scared. Even though I had a lot of theatre experience, things were a lot of different in cinema. I wasn’t comfortable for the first few years and it was only after my first Kannada project, I started liking what I was doing,” she said, adding that she has learnt to not impress anybody.

“I’ve learnt to be myself. In this industry, people waste so much of time trying to make others like them. I absolutely find that silly, because as an actor you’re always living someone else’s life on screen, so what’s the point of trying to me someone else in real life, too,” she asked.

Director Vignesh and music composer Anirudh Ravichander have joined hands for the second time in a row for a yet-untitled Tamil project featuring Vijay Sethupathi, after last year’s blockbuster “Naanum Rowdydhaan”.

“The project is slated to go on the floors later this year. It’s tipped to be another romantic comedy along the lines of Vignesh’s first film,” a source close to the director told IANS.

While the rest of the cast is yet to be finalised, rumour has it that Nayanthara, who had previously worked in “Naanum Rowdydhaan”, might join the team again.

This project is likely to be bankrolled by A.M. Rathnam.

Actress Jessica Alba will ring in her 35th birthday in just under a month, and the mother-of-two says she likes herself way more now than she did a decade ago.

Alba said she is excited about her upcoming birthday celebrations, reported E!Online. “I have to say I like me better at 35 than at 25,” she said.

“I definitely went through a crisis at 25, 26, 27. I don’t know, it was like a 3-year crisis. Then I had honor at 28, and I felt like everything just kind of fell into place and made sense. I feel really good now, and I’m excited about turning 35.”

Actress Manisha Koirala has arrived in Shimla to shoot for her upcoming film “Dear Maya”. The 45-year-old “Dil Se” star, who was last seen in psychological thriller “Chehere: A Modern Day Classic”, took to Twitter to announce her new film.

Celebrity couple Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West have finally moved out of Kris Jenner’s home.

Actor Ali Fazal and former “Bigg Boss” contestant Mandana Karimi turned showstoppers for the young and upcoming designers on the day two of Lakme Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016.

Five talented designers — Aqdus Saleem, Chirag Nainani, Naveem Naaz Shaikh, Agrima Batra and Sohaya Misra– showcased their designs at INIFD Gen Next Show.

Fazal, 29, who was dressed in Naveem’s denim creation looked comfortably handsome.

The “Furkey” actor said he was amazed with the talent these young designers have and also expressed his desire to have a fashion line in future.

“I love what I am wearing. Naveem has designed this specially for me. I loved her work. This is the second season for me to walk the ramp at LFW. Let’s see if I ever come up with my own fashion line someday,” he said.

Kurtas, midis, checked unstructured coats, unusual saris paired with shirts and pants were highlight of Naveem’s collection.

“Denim is usually considered not very comfortable for summer, so I have tried and make it high school and comfortable. My only moto is to put people in something they want to wear. I have used lots of lazer and child like characters,” Naveem said.

Iranian actress-model Karimi walked for Agrima, a graduate from Parsons the School of Design, New York.

Her collection was a mix of stylish chic day-to-evening wear that was created with zero wastage.

Karimi, who was sporting a monochromatic creation with patches on sleeves said she loves walking the ramp, but still enjoys acting more.

“I love Agrima’s designs. I had a great time walking for her. She is so young yet so talented. I am a model and love coming to ramp, but still enjoy acting more as that is what I want to do,” she said.

Sohaya’s collection was aimed at fashion wearers of all ages and sizes. With textured linen and cotton as the prime fabrics sans embellishments, the collection was full of layered separates.

Flared shirt dresses with soft trench coat, draped asymmetric frock, grey layered skirt, striped coat were some of her most appreciated creations.

“My collection is all about drape, detailing and fabric. It’s not embellished. I have used organic colour palette. It looks very easy, but anybody can make a bold statement wearing it,” Sohaya said about her spring/summer range.

Post graduate student, Aqdus created a perfect blend of Islamic culture and ethnic wear through her range.

Shades of white cotton, lawn, linen and organza were delicately highlighted with embellishments in white and Sahara beige.

Inspired by the Middle East, Aqdus made a shift from traditional Abayas and went onto more fashionable modern attire.

The only male designer to make to Gen Next category this year was Chirag. Exploring the use of indigenous material, handloom fabrics and crafts by local artisans, the designer brought in indigo dyeing with resist techniques.

“My collection was based on psychological test called Rorschach. I have developed my patterns from there. I love dying and printing so I have done a lot of that on my designs. I have used a lot of cotton based fabric for men. I have treated them in a very Indian way,” Chirag said.

Pop star Beyonce received a visit from US presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton while filming a music video.

The “Drunk In Love” star, who is currently working on a new album, was recently in Los Angeles shooting a promo for the record when a special guest joined her in the studio, according to Us magazine.

It is unclear if former Secretary of State Clinton will appear in the video or what the purpose of the set visit was, but she has often heaped praise on Beyonce in the past, and she’s clearly a fan.

Actress Melissa McCarthy believes women should not “apologise” for wanting equal rights with their male counterparts in Hollywood.

The “Spy” star has commented on Hollywood’s gender pay gap, insisting women should only want the best for themselves if they’re willing to put in the work, reported Female First.

“Women should not apologise for getting in there and taking what they want. They should not apologise for wanting equal pay or equal rights. They should not apologise for wanting it all, but they should be willing to work for it,” she said.

The 45-year-old actress wouldn’t class herself as a role model and claims no woman is “perfect”.

“I know I am not the ‘norm.’ It never occurs to me in terms of being a role model, though, because I don’t know any perfect women. If I, off the top of my head, name 20 of the most amazing women in my life, it’s all shapes, sizes, ages, colours, jobs,” McCarthy said.

Comedienne Rosie O’Donnell’s marriage to Michelle Rounds, whom she split from in 2014, has been legally dissolved 15 months after she filed for divorce.

The ex couple’s lawyers are set to submit the paperwork to the courts in Manhattan, reported the New York Post.

A source said, “The divorce is finalised, it’s just formality for the paperwork to be submitted.”

This was the 54-year-old comedienne’s second marriage.

Following R&B singer Kehlani’s suicide attempt that led to her hospitalization, rapper Chris Brown has accused the rising star of doing it as a ploy for sympathy.

“There is no attempting suicide. Stop flexing for the gram. Doing for sympathy so then comments under your pics don’t look so bad,” he wrote on Twitter. His harsh comment soon prompted backlash from other Twitter users. “Chris Brown……stfu,” Rickey Thompson wrote.

Kehlani hinted that she attempted suicide with a picture of her lying in a hospital bed. The suicide attempt came after
the “America’s Got Talent” alum was accused of cheating on her boyfriend, NBA star Kyrie Irving.

Actress Sonam Kapoor, whose last film “Neerja” was widely appreciated, has not signed any new project after the movie’s release. And this, she says, is stressing her out.

Asked if she has taken on anything new, Sonam told IANS: “No, I haven’t signed anything and it’s stressing me out that I haven’t.”

In “Neerja”, Sonam played a real life character — a flight attendant who displays bravado on a hijacked plane to save the lives of passengers by risking her own.

Sonam admits that the portrayal of women in films has become stronger over the years, but she still feels that in terms of remuneration, discrimination against actresses exists.

Talking about the pay disparity, she said: “It is slowly changing, but it’s a far way off despite the numbers that ‘Neerja’ has done and despite the numbers my films have done.”

“I have been a part of female-centric films but we are still only opening to 700 screens.”

“It’s not about what the industry is paying you… It’s about whether the audience wants to see the film or not. If my film is going to open at Rs.6 crore, is it okay for the producer to pay me that money or not,” she said.

Actor Ranveer Singh, who was last seen on screen in filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus “Bajirao Mastani”, has landed a film by director Rohit Shetty.

Ranveer will soon be working with Shetty, who is known for his snazzy car wreck stunts, action sequences and cool comedies, read a statement from the actor’s representative.

Television actor Ravi Bhatia, who featured in historical TV show “Jodha Akbar”, says he is excited about entering the superhero world with his first international TV series.

Ravi will be seen in an Indonesian television series “Cinta Di Langit Taj Mahal” (Love In The Air Of Taj Mahal) with Shaheer Sheikh.

The actor, who has also appeared in “Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se”, was supposed to play a secret agent, but the makers decided to revamp the crime-based series into a love story with a supernatural twist.

“I am really excited, because I am playing a superhero on screen for the first time. My character has a variety of shades – from a lovestruck to a lovelorn prince, who then turns evil,” Ravi said in a statement.

He added: “Eventually, he becomes a better person and utilises his superpowers for the well being of people.”

The foreign TV series is based on a famous Indonesian folktale of Roro Jonggrang from ninth century.

Ravi will be seen playing a prince named Raja. He falls in love with Roro Jonggrang, a princess of a neighbouring kingdom. But fate takes a different turn before their love story reaches climax.

Roro gets cursed by a cruel prince Bhandung, who was enthralled by her beauty. And due to the curse, Roro is turned into a stone statue leaving Raja heartbroken.

The series will be telecast in different countries including Indonesia and Russia, and is expected to go on-air around second week of April.

Arvind Swamy, who made his Bollywood debut with Mani Ratnam’s “Roja”, is all set to make a comeback to the Hindi cinema after 15 years with debutant director Tanuj Bhramar’s film “Dear Dad”.

The 45-year-old actor chose to return with this movie because he found the subject intriguing.

“Films like these don’t get made very often and such stories need to be told. I will be seen essaying the role of a father in the film,” he said in a statement.

“Dear Dad” is a bittersweet coming-of-age story of a father and his 14 year old son. The father-son duo embark on an impromptu road trip from their home, in Delhi, to Mussorie where the son attends boarding school.

The poster of the film will be out on April 1 and the teaser is expected to be out in the first week of next month.

After dating for two years, Bipasha Basu has finally decided to settle down with boyfriend Karan Singh Grover next month.
